While hiking, cycling or riding an ATV / Quad, Murdochville offers numerous trails for both beginner and advanced trekkers!
While walking along the trails, discover the 5 km Sentier à Marius specifically designed for advanced trekkers. Meanwhile, the Centre de plein air du lac York offers 15 km of trails for beginners on an enchanting site. Its bike path circles the lake, offering hikers time to admire the surrounding nature.
At the entrance to Murdochville, the Réserve faunique des Chic-Chocs offers you the Pics trail, with its incredible view of mount McGerrigle and the à Pierre lake. Attention : An average of 2 hours of hiking are needed to complete the 4 km novice trail. The entrance to the trail — which is open from the beginning of June until Labour Day — is situated 2 km from the chalet of Branche-Nord lake on route 22 of the Reserve.
Finally… what can we say concerning the impressive network of trails of the parc national de la Gaspésie, which is in close proximity to Murdochville. Immerse yourself in a mountainous wonderland while hiking through a multitude of short trails (from 1 to 17 km), from mid-May to mid-October. For fans of long hikes, you will be very happy to discover a trail of over 100 km, which traverses the parc du mont Logan right through to the Jacques-Cartier mount. Open from the end of June until the beginning of October, this trail will make you discover peaks of over 1000m of altitude... and snow right until the middle of summer! An integral part of the Sentier international des Appalaches, this trail is a scenic route filled with moose and caribou, facinating beats which you will be able to observe in their natural habitat.
